I was born right here in Fort Myers, Florida on January 6th 1977. As a small child my uncle
introduced me to the sport of fishing in the Sanibel and Pine Island back bays. I've been
hooked ever since! He taught me how to tie knots, how to throw a cast net and how to catch
fish. I've learned that there are never two days of fishing that are ever the same. The only
thing that's consistent with fishing in S.W. Florida are the inconsistencies. The fishing varies
from day to day based on the moons, tides and weather etc... I've inherited his theories of
fishing and acquired some of my own along the way. I've fished Fort Myers and Sanibel
Island, my whole life and spent a lot of time on these waterways scouting for areas which
may be rich in Snook, Redfish, Trout and Tarpon.
Now I have the opportunity to guide my clients through those Mangrove Islands, that have
provided me with endless hours of fishing memories. Come spend a day with FishSkinner

One of the most extreme forms of fishing in the inshore waters of Fort Myers and Sanibel Island is shark fishing. This type of fishing can be challenging and unpredictable which is why it's become a popular charter for those thrill seekers out there.

September has been a great month for redfish here in Sanibel. Redfish of all sizes have been eating everything from white bait, pins and cut bait. I had a family down from Wisconsin this week who booked a fish/lunch trip. We went to one spot and set there for hours catching red, after red, after red. We never had to leave that one area. The winter has come even earlier in 2010 than the year past. Lets hope this is not a sign of whats to come. Last years continuous cooler temps killed off a lot of our Snook. I appreciate the continued Snook ban but would hope that they have time to flourish without the threat of more dying off. They truly are a beauty. I choose to catch and release whether there's a shortage or not. I'd hope that other anglers and or guides (in particular) choose to do the same.

The fishing's hot right now in Fort Meyers and Sanibel Florida. Charters a plenty, we've been having a lot of luck with the Redfish and Snook. I think the rain we've had the past couple weeks from the tropics have cooled down the waters, allowing the fish to want to come out and play a little bit more.
