Striper fishing in the Sacramento has slowed to a crawl with a lot of shakers and very few large fish for
 
 
the taking. Shad fishing has been spotty to fair at best because of the huge flows from the snow melt
 
which has caused the schools to break up widen in the overall river.
 
Remember, July 16th is the salmon opener on the Sacramento river system which includes the Feather river
 
where I will start my fishing for these hard fighting beauties. The DFG is expecting 730,000 returning fish to
 
the whole system and if this is truly the case, we will have FISH-ON all season. I am looking forward to this
 
fishery being healthy again!
