The Petrohue River has been in excellent shape since the season started in November.  We have been releasing 4 to 6 pound brown trout several times a day with all the better anglers.  Chinook (King) Salmon have been in the system since mid November and everyone who has targetted them has at least hooked them.  Landing them is a 45 minutes to well over an hour ordeal with 7 or 8 wt fly fishing rigs.  Salmon fishing will be over by the end of March, but brown trout fly fishing will just get better all through April.  The Maullin River, a brown trout fishery, has also been excellent with 30 fish days and some trophy browns for persistent anglers.
