Today we had a company that hired all the boats on A dock at Bahia-Mar for a big fishing convention.

Aboard the Hooked Up we had Kevin from Holly Michigan, John from Knoxville Tenn., Eric from Lake Port Ca. Debbie from Kelseyville Ca., and Hal and Mark from Reno Nevada.

We started out trolling the reef catching king fish and bonitos. Everyone was catching fish and fishing was going just the way we wanted it to go.And Debbie caught a big Baracuda.

As we worked our way to the south off the coast of Hallandale we got to a ship wreck that lay on the bottom at 225 feet down.

We brought in all of the trolling gear and sent down a live bait. The second the bait hit the bottom Bam line started screaming off the reel and we were Hooked Up. Kevin jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It took Kevin a good 10 min to finally get his big amber jack to the boat.

Nice going Kevin it seemed everything we tried was working for us so we decided to set out our kites with live bait suspended from them along with a couple shark baits on the bottom and just see if our luck would stay with us.

Than it happen out of nowhere one of our deep lines started peeling off the reel and we were Hooked Up again.

This time Eric jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It was a big back and forth tug a war for a good 20 min then what we seen pop up freaked everyone one out. It was the biggest greater Amber Jack
I’ve ever seen. I think it was a total of 77 inches long with a head like a horse.

We got a few quick pictures and tried to release him but sorry to say that this old fish fought his heart out and he was just not going to make it so Eric decided to have this monster brought back to the dock and he was going to have a replica trophy made of this SEA MONSTER.

When it was all said and done we had a box full of king fish, bonitos a monster greater amber jack and a boat full of laughs and good times.

Thanks again to everyone including Captain Rick for getting us on the fishing trip.

Today we had Neal aboard again who had fished with us on Wed with his wife. But today Karla had to work and since Neal had nothing to do he decided to spend the morning drinking a little wine and fishing with us again.

We started out trolling the reef trying to throw a few king fish in the box but the kings just were not biting as well today. So I turned the boat off shore and just as I got to about 200 feet of water we had two bites at the same time. The first fish that Neal reeled in turned out to be a little black fin tuna on the planner with a 60 foot leader behind it. While Neal was reeling in the other fish which also turned out to be a black fin tuna Captain Greg got the first tuna off the hook and just threw the leader over board to straighten out the leader and he went to get the second tuna in the boat when all of a sudden something picked up what was left of the bait on the first leader.

I noticed Greg ran across the boat picked up the rod and said he thought he seen something long and black and thought it might be a sail fish.
Well all of a sudden a sailfish came out of the water dancing all over the surface and we were Hooked Up.

Neal jumped in the chair and the fight was on. Well just like Neal’s shark a couple of days before we knew that we were going to have to baby this fish in because it could have just shaken his head once a spit the hook.

Once again Neal’s luck paid off and soon after the bite we had Neal’s sail fish in the boat for a quick measurement and a quick photo to have a replica trophy mount made of his fish and watched him swim away in great shape to fight again another day.

By the end of the trip we ended up with 2 black fin tuna’s one dolphin fish and a nice sail fish.

Neal thanks again it was a ball fishing with you and Karla.

Hope to see you in the Bahamas in July.

Ok today we has 2 on a split Anga and her husband Micha from Germany and we needed to find other to split the fare with them so I came up with this little white lie. I had talked to this girl named Shelly who was on vacation with her sister Kimberly and their mom Irene and they were enjoying some south Florida sun without husbands and kids from South Carolina. And they were thinking about trying a little deep sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up.

So I told them that if they joined our afternoon couple for a fishing trip I would ware my leopard string G string during the fishing trip (LOL)

I guess since we were talking over the phone and they had no idea that I would not look so great in this g string they said hell yes we are fishing with you. (Don’t tell their husbands that’s why they really went fishing with us)

I’ve got to say everyone had a ball and with all the yelling and caring on going on you would have thought everyone was drinking too much but they never even had a beer they were just having a ball.

And to boot we caught a few nice fish and Kimberly ended up catching a big greater amber jack that kicked her butt.

Than mom hooked up with a monster dolphin fish and by the way this is as big as they get in this size. (LOL)

Then shelly caught a nice king fish.

Infact everyone caught fish and had a ball.

Thanks again to all of our anglers today it was a ball.
