This morning we started out fishing with Johan and his family from Norway.( sorry we did not get all their names)
We started out trolling the reef catching a nice barracuda hand full of king fish and a box full of bonitos.
We ended our morning trip with dropping a live bait down on a wreck that was in 210 feet of water. It only took about 2 seconds after the live bait hit the bottom till BAM we got Hooked Up. What a great way to end the trip catching a nice 30 to 35 pound amber jack.
Once we got back to the dock we loaded up our new lucky anglers Mom and dad Tim and Jill along with their kids Jake, Alex and Halle all from Wisconsin.
Once again we started out trolling the reef catching a few bonitos along with a king fish and 3 black fin tunas.
Now that the skunk was out of the box and everyone caught some fish it was time to go for the fish of a lifetime.
So out went the kites with 3 live baits suspended from them along with one big shark bait also suspended from the kites. We also sent a shark bait all the way to the bottom and last but not least another shark bait down about half way to the bottom.
The trap was set now we needed a little luck.
After a bit of waiting one of the shark rods bent over and the fight was on. After a good 20 min back and forth tug a war up came this big hammerhead shark.
J.J. managed to slide the shark into the boat for a quick measurement and a photo to have a replica trophy made of the familys catch and then we released him back into the sea to fight again another day.
What a great time fishing today with 2 different familys from 2 different parts of the world but so much in common.

April 19th, 2011
Today we started out fishing with Nikki and Tony from New York and Nina, Laura, Kristen and Janet all from Fort Lauderdale Florida.
We went right to trolling the reef with 2 planner board running about 45 feet down along with a wire line set way back and also running down deep and 2 more surface lines with the baits skipping across the surface.
Trolling was the ticket today because we ended up catching a big box full of fish consisting of Kingfish, Bonitos, and Black Fin tunas.
What an action packed morning of deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
As we pulled back to the dock we had our afternoon anglers ready and eager to give their luck a shot aboard the Hooked Up.
We had Mom and dad Marion and Greg along with their kids Little 12 year old Abby, Courtney and last but not least 13 year old Emily all from New Jersey.
Right back to trolling we went with the same spread of baits we had fished in our morning trip.
The only difference was that it seemed the fish were biting even better than they were in the morning trip because we started catching fish right away and it looked as if we were going to fill the fish box. That was the good new but the bad news was that I am sorry to say that a few of them were not really feeling the fishing thing if you know what I mean?
(We like to say they got SICK of fishing) (LOL)

April 20th, 2011
Today we started out with fishing with Eric and Graham from North Carolina.
We started out trolling right outside the reef catching a mixed bag consisting of a few kingfish a couple black fin tunas and a couple dolphin fish.
Ok now that we had a good mixed bag of fish in the box we brought in the trolling gear and set out our kites with some live goggle eyes (Live Bait) suspended from them.
Once again today everything we tried just seem to work with Eric catching a big sailfish.
As we got back to the dock we picked up our afternoon trip Jeff and his two twin sons Max and Jamie from New York.
We went right out to 350 feet of water and set out 2 kites with 3 live baits suspended from them and 1 big dead shark bait also suspended from the kites. We also set a shark bait on the bottom and last but not least a shark bait about half way down.
Talk about feast or fathom, all at once here comes this big hammer head shark all over our shark bait that was suspended from the kites as the deep rod with the other shark bait on bends over and not only are we Hooked Up but we are double Hooked U p at the same time.
We had our hands full to say the least. Max jumped on one rod while Jamie jumped on the other.
35 min later we got the first one to the boat and J.J. got him into the boat for a quick measurement and a photo in order to have a replica trophy made of this great catch. Just as J.J. was sliding him back out the door here came the second hammerhead. This one was a bit smaller than the first but a BIG SHARK anyway you look at it.
After some high fiving and some hand shaking back out went the baits and we were fishing again.
Once again it seemed we could do no wrong today and before we knew it we were fight another fish and this must have been the day of the toothy fish because we ended up boating big barracuda to finish off the day.

April 21st, 2011
Today we started out fishing with John, Jennifer, July and Elizabeth.
We started out trolling the reef catching a bunch of 8 to 12 pound bonitos and 4 nice black fin tunas.
We trolled our way toward a shipwreck that lay in about 110 feet of water. As we got close to the wreck we set out a couple of live baits with trouble hooks in them and sent one down about 60 feet on a down rigger and another bait on the surface.
It took a matter of seconds till the bait down deep got attacked and before we knew it we were doing battle with a big barracuda.
Ok they are biting so after a couple of photos we released our first barracuda and set the live baits right back out there and BAM again we were connected. And once again a couple photos and we set him free to fight again anther day.
As we pulled back to the dock we had our afternoon trip consisting of Russ, Anne, Michael, Katie and Brittany from Las Vegas waiting to do a bit of Sport fishing aboard the Hooked up.
This time we went right to kite fishing with live baits suspended from the kites.
Truth being told fishing started out on the slow side for us but all @ once our luck changed and before we knew it we had a big sailfish dancing all over the place and we were Hooked Up.
Anne jumped in the chair and the fight was on. After a good 20 min back and forth tug a war Anne finally got her first sailfish to the boat.
Way to go Anne
I am sorry to say that the photos we took of the fish never came out so Anne if you guys can send us the photos and we would love to post them.

Today we took out a family from Germany fishing and what a ball the whole trip turned out to be.
We had Vivien, Tabea, Felix, Andrea and Andreas.
Trolling with the planner boards had been producing fish all week so we went right to trolling and by god once again we had a great catch.
We ended up with a box full of bonitos a few kingfish and 3 nice black fin tunas to boot.
Thanks again our new German friends and were looking forward to fishing with you guys again next year.
