Submitted on 02/01/2012Ft Lauderdale Fishing charter trips here in South Florida remain strong with lots of sailfish action. The strong cold fronts needed to continually push the sailfish to us are running a little behind so the big bite still hasnt happened. However a constant flow of some fish have kept the bite alive while we continue to wait for the big push. Filling in the gaps between sailfish bites have been some good size mahi mahi, some monster king mackeral and a couple of big wahoos. Kite fishing is still the preferred method of fishing this month for all the above mentioned species, although we have been sneaking a few deep lines and flat lines out while kite fishing to pick up those big kings. A triple hook jig and ballyhoo combination will fool its share of fish as well and provides some more hands on while waiting for the big bite out of the kite. Hammerhead sharks will begin to make their presence known as the month continues and the sharks we will be seeing will start to step it up in size as well. Shark Fishing Fort Lauderdale in the coming months is excellent and if you have ever wanted to catch a sea monster, now through June is a great time to do it!
