The weather has changed here in S.W Florida and so has the fishing. I've talked to a couple other guides in the area and they, along with myself have had a tough time fishing in the Pine Island and Sanibel area since the weather has cooled off. So I decided to head South just like the snow birds. Not nearly as far, just to Estero Bay.
I had some good luck fishing there for Emma's 2nd annual fishing tournament a couple weeks ago, so I figured I'd try my luck at it again. Just like back in the first week of October I scored with some red fish action! I fished the creek mouths and cuts where the water runs out of the mangroves on a falling tide. The snook were also feeding around the mangroves. Look for them where you see bubbles and in small creeks that drain into larger creeks. I like to use Capt. Mikes willow leaf spoon when fishing artificials for reds. The snook are still actively feeding on cut white or live bait.
