mentioned in my last report that we were in the "dog days" of summer. Well, since then, the dog has bitten us. Hot water, thunderstorms, and a stiff, unrelenting southwest blow have made the past week on the inshore grounds challenging to say the least. The wind has really stirred the water in many locations, which has resulted in my chasing around the cleanest water i can find in hopes of finding so cooperative fish living there. However, all has not been lost, as we have managed to catch fish on every trip, and have had couple of good catches thrown in to keep things on the positive side. The flounder fishing has remained consistent, and I had a couple trips this week where we caught some really good numbers of fish. There have been quite a few throwback size fish around, but at the same time there have been a few nice ones in the same spots, so you never know. One cast might yield a 13 incher and the next cast produce a 3lber. Also, on another positive note, the redfishing has been solid the past couple of days, and we have managed to catch some nice ones ranging from 16-18 inchers to a couple of 30inch brutes as well. If we can get a break from the wind for a few days, we should have some awesome fishing, so keep your fingers crossed.
