March 16th and 17th Report

Fishing with the gang from Grebll In.
 
Today we took out John, Jeff, Noah, MaryAnn and Fannie all from Grebll In.
 
 
We started out trolling the reef hoping to get some king fish and or bonitos in the box. But the reef just was not producing any fish for us trolling today all we ended up with was a bonito.
 
 
 
Ok so it was time to change fishing teckneeks. We brought in all the trolling gear and out went our 2 kites with 3 live baits suspended from them and one dead bonito also suspended from the kite.
 
 
All of a sudden while I was shooting the breeze with Captain Greg he ran down stairs and picked up one of the rods. He must have seen something I didn’t. He locked up the reel and yelled up to the bridge for me to go ahead with the boat. Then the rod bent over and line started screaming off the reel.
 
(We WERE HOOKED UP)
 
John wasted no time getting in the chair and the fight was on.
 
 
 
John fought this fish back and forth for over 45 min and by the time he got this monster hammer head shark to the boat he was beat. I mean both the shark and John were beat. (LOL)
 
 
It was a good thing to because this fish stayed calm while we slid him into the boat threw the tuna door and this gave us time to get a good measurement of the fish and a couple quick photos and watched him swim right out of the boat on his own.
He swam away in great shape to fight again another day.

Fishing with the family from Norway
 
Today we had a family from Norway Markus and his wife Anna and their two sons Toby and Totto.
 
 
We started out trolling the reef but as our luck would have it today the kings and bonitos just were not biting. So we decided to try trolling off shore in hope of finding some dolphin fish but once again we just could not seem to find any fish today but we were determined to catch these guys some fish. So in came all of our trolling gear and we ran to a ship wreck that rested about 210 feet down on the bottom. We sent down a live blue runner and before we even knew that we were at the bottom we were Hooked Up.
 
 
 
Markus jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It took him a good 15 min to finally wrestled in this big amber jack to the boat. We took a few pictures and released him back into the ocean to fight again another day.
 
We were really out of time but we just had to try one more drop. And once again the second we hit bottom we were Hooked Up.
 
This time Toby jumped in the chair and the fight was on. BUT after about 3 min of fighting his fish we pulled the hooks. Ok now we were really running late but we just had to try one more drop and once again the second we got our bait down we were hooked up again BUT once again after a couple min we pulled the hooks again. Ok now we were starting to take this personal. So we dropped again but that was all the chances this wreck was going to give us today.
 
Guys thanks again and Toby we will see you next year and this time we WILL catch him.
