Lets go fishing!
Spring New Letter from Spec Fever Guide Service
Reports and updates for this Spring...
Spring has arrived. What a long cold winter!!
I have been picking up redfish and specks in the creeks near Oriental and stripers near New Bern. There has also been good redfishing at the Crystal Coast
April: Specks, redfish and flounder fishing will pick up in the creeks and the river near Oriental. The fish can be great and the tree lined shores can be a big help with windy spring weather.
New Bern striper fishing will continue to be good with an improving top water bite. The keeper season closes April 30th but the catching will continue well into the summer; plus we will also be catching specks, reds, flounder, bass, pickerel and even jumbo catfish.
There will be plenty of action at the Crystal Coast. I will be fishing the marshes for reds and specks, plus blues, bonito and even a few albacore off the beach. Look for Spanish and cobia to make their appearance in May.
June is also outstanding fishing for reds, specks and flounder form Oriental. Spanish, cobia, kings, AJs, blues and redfish from Beaufort.
Dont forget tarpon and giant red drum trips are also just around the corner
My new 2010 Frontier 210 Bay Boat has been a real treat to be on. She is smooth and dry and all the extras are really paying off.
