Submitted on 12/05/2011Fishing Fort Lauderdale in November was absolutely excellent this year! Sailfish took the stage front and center with a strong showing throughout the month. Quite a few fish were taken on the troll along with many on the kite baits. Mixed in with the sailfish and keeping us busy and entertained were the hoardes of mahi mahi. The green and yellow demons swarmed our waters from right on top of the reef in 50 feet of water showering shoals of ballyhoo, all the way out to 500 feet erupting schools of flying fish. The mahi mahi this time of the year typically run larger in the 8-10 pound range all the way up to 25 pounds or better. Quite a few wahoos abounded as well, with their electric purple tiger stripes and razor like teeth. Look for the same type of action throughout December as well!!!
