White Marlin caught in Fort Lauderdale aboard the Lady Pamela

Today we had four guys on a split fishing charter. We purchased live goggle eyes before heading offshore in 6-8 ft seas blowing out of the NE with a south current. The King Mackerel, Bonito and Mahi – Mahi fish didn't take long to show up. An hour and half into the trip and we were out of bait. Our customers wanted to head back to the dock, so as we made our way back inshore, Justin put a ballyhoo bait out. As he was letting it out, a monster fish ate. Don jumped into the fighting chair with no hesitation and went straight to work. We thought maybe a small Blue Marlin ate, or a big Sailfish or maybe even a White Marlin was on the other end on the line. It was a brutal 30 minute battle before we got the 90 lb White Marlin to the boat. This is the time of year when you may spot a few White Marlin while fishing offshore in Fort Lauderdale. Way to go, Don.
