The warm, fertile waters of the Atlantic's Gulf Stream are closer here than anywhere else in the United States - literally a ten minute boat ride. Sailfish are routinely caught within sight of the beach.
You haven't lived until you've had one of these beauties suddenly slam onto your line while relaxing in your own private chartered boat under the warm Florida sun.As Hemingway said, "It doesn't get anymore thrilling than this."

When We can get out.
Weather has been a problem but we did get out a couple of days last week. We were trolling on every trip and the sails have been steady with 3 to 5 bites per
trip. We are still waiting for a larger body of fish to move into our area.A bit of cold weather should get them moving. The report for the weekend is good with a cold front due to move through on Sun....
Jupiter, Palm Beach offer exciting snook and Tarpon action
Time after time mother nature continues to baffle us. weather patterns are not consistent and by no means can we figure them out. Day by day we wait for the next curve ball of weather, we are given.
The inshore waters calm and peaceful for many, offers plenty of jack action. Jacks are very aggressive taking any live bait or top water plug on the surface. Ladyfish and pompano also wondering are local channels, take Live shrimp or jigs tipped with dead bait.

Getting started
Decided to meet the migration and headed for stuart out of palm beach. This paid off with 2 good days of fishing with 4of 5 sails and over 20 nice dolphin. We also had plenty of action with small blacfins. The method was trolling ballys behind teasers and dredges. This is just the beggining of a good bite so we have decided to spend the next month in the area . The cold front predicted for this weekend should add to the action so we are looking forward to some really good action in the next few...

Snook fishing at night has been outstanding and provides anglers with big fish. Live baits or lures worked along shadow line of lights, draws many explosive strikes. The fish are schooling and feed on both sides of the tides, moving water is a must.
Juvenile tarpon are abundant in back bays and canals but the big 50 to 80 pound tarpon are all inside the inlets and deep channels. Nigh fishing has been the most productive, crank baits, jigs and live baits all provoke strikes....

Snook Tarpon Full of life in back bays
Seasonable weather and moderate winds, this is the winter weather we all enjoy so much. The fronts have been tame lately, but I am sure our future holds brisk weather around the corner. I am very certain the north east anglers would love to be in our neck of the woods right now.
Inshore anglers, reports of tarpon in the icw and inlets on outgoing tide during the evening, produce fish from 20 to 60 pounds. Live baits produce best results, those who prefer artificial lures, j...

Osprey: Sailfish
The SAILFISH bite continues to remain constant this month. On text book days, like January 12th and 13th, where the winds were out of the North and you had choppy seas, we caught 21 and 18 sails, respectively. Otherwise, on days where they don't feed as well, we've been averaging 6 sails per day over the last 20 trips; some up to 80 lbs! and multi-strike catches!
Have also had some nice dolphin and kingfish catches (usually 2-3 catches per trip). On January 14th, we had a W...

Currently the fishing is excellent both trolling and fishing kites with live bait. At the forfront are sailfish and dolphin with kings mixed in. There have also been some wahoo mixed in and we did get lucky and troll one on mono this week. We are not using wire leader at this time so any kings or wahoo that stay on are a bonus. We are also working the bottom when conditions allow and have come up with a few cobia and as you can see a nice African pompano made it to the fish box.

Outstanding!
Presently fishing is terrific. Sails are cooperating with multiples being caught every day. Dolphin are biting as well with fish ranging from schoolies to some very respectable gaffers. Live bait in kites is best for the sails and larger dolphin while trolling is also taking quite a few fish.
Bottom fishing is also very good with some snappers ,both mutton and yellow tail.being caught. Both today and yesterday we were also able to manage 2 nice cobia. Our first of t...

Excellent Dolphin fishing right now. Trolling is getting it done, and luckily it is within 2 miles from the inlet as it is very rough. Should continue after this front and into next week. Some sailfish around and with weather cooling should improve same with cobia but as of yet to rough to sight fish along the beach.
