Description:
The Barren River is a river in western Kentucky, USA. It is the largest tributary of the Green River, which drains more of Kentucky than any other river. The Barren River rises in Monroe County and flows into the Green in northeast Warren County.
River fishing, below the dam, offers the oportunity to catch muskie, catfish and also hybrid and striped bass. A boat ramp is located in the Tailwater Campground next to Barren River Lake.

Fishing is heating up despite the lake being a bit high. Water temps are in the 70's and hybrids are chasing shad and alewives early in the AM and late in the evening near dark.Bass are fair to good in the creeks.Bluegill and shellcracker are fair.Crappie are good in about 10 foot of water deeper on cover in some places. With the lake up about 5 feet you want to fish deeper than normal for this time of year for crappie....
