Charleston Inshore Fishing Charters and Guides

Fished three days last week and 2 were with clients.  The warm weather has really turned the redfish bite on fire.  We have been getting good numbers on Zman soft plastics with Pro Cure and on the fly on small black clousers.  first trip I fished with clients out of Charleston and we found the redfish in large schools on the flats.  Water on the flat was almost 60 and fish were aggressive and fought hard.  First 2 schools that we hit we boated 3-4 fish before the sc...

Report )ctober 10th 2011

North East winds started picking up at the end of the week and making fishing conditions tough but the redfish, trout, and flounder were still biting strong. Early in the week we had good conditions with large tides, still plenty of happy tailing reds in the flooded marsh grass on tides 6.2 and greater. Most of the redfish have been holding tight to structure ( docks, oysters, and rip rap) and feeding on shrimp, mullet and crabs. The breeder reds are in full gear around deeper water structure...

Charleston South Carolina September Fishing Report

Fall is finally here! The fine fishing that accompanies this change in season has already begun. No more need to be on the water at first light to scratch out a few hours of fishing before the hot temperatures turned the bite off. Anglers can expect all species of fish to feed more aggressively. And, oh yeah, there will be much less traffic on the water to boot!   Recently, we’ve been casting artificials to redfish on the flats at low tide and found them to be finicky. So, back to th...

Charleston Fishing Report - August 2011     No doubt it has been a hot summer, but it hasn’t slowed down the fishing. Anglers leaving first thing in morning have been rewarded with hungry redfish and trout. All tactics whether it be artificials, live bait or flies have been working well. Charleston Harbor April Fishing Report

During March, calm weather days were few and far between. When the wind did lay down, fishing was excellent especially sight fishing for redfish at low tide. Charleston Fishing Report - March 2011

Spring is fast approaching! Sun filled days with temperatures sometimes reaching even into the 70's have fishermen excited to hit the water. Best of all the bite is starting to markedly improve as warmer waters fill our fishery.       Having spent the last few months laying low and avoiding dolphins, redfish are transitioning from a period focused simply on preservation to now becoming predators again. With redfish still in big schools of up to hundreds of fish, the best...

Your best bet is fishing for reddrum.   With the cold weather, the water temp is in the 40 degree range, the water is gin clear, and the reddrum are in schools of a hundred fish or better. Inshore and reef fishing has been hot like the weather

The last 3 weeks I have been running all kinds of fishing trips: kids, reef, fly, inshore and shark fishing. The sharks are back inshore in full force mostly using live and dead fish along with crabs, highlight was on 6/11 I fish with the Mendez family and 12 year old Chris caught and released what would have been the new state record black tip shark after a 55 minute fight. Also had Chris Wistler come back the year to get his first redfish on the fly and he didnt stop at 1 but caught 3 on cop...

I fished 4 days in the last 2 weeks dodging cold fronts and windy conditions, but the redfish action has been good. Thursday fished with a group in the morning and found 1 large school of redfish on the flats ( about 80 fish) but they were spooky and only gave us a few bites. Wind picked up so we tucked into a small creek and found 2 schools tucked behind some oysters, used gulp jerk shads and grubs tipped with minnows and caught 38 redfish between 4-11 pounds. Next day had a corporate gro...

Winter Fishing Report - January Fishing has been great so far this month. The redfish are still biting and the winter clear water is here. The clear water makes for some great scouting opportunities.
