Description:

Cranks Creek Lake is located in Harlan

County approximately 15 miles

southwest of Harlan off Highway 987.

The original dam was completed in

1963, with revisions in the dam and

restocking occurring in 1978. Two

launching areas are available.

THE FISHERY:

Species present in the lake include

rainbow trout, largemouth bass,

smallmouth bass, spotted bass,

bluegill, and channel catfish.

Cranks Creek Lake is a small, pristine lake nestled in some of the most beautiful scenery in Kentucky. The lake is owned and operated by the county, and there is a boat dock with boat rental available.

Cranks Creek Lake is located at the base of Stone Mountain off of KY 987 on KY 3099. The Martins Fork Lake and the Stone Mountain Wildlife Management Area are located nearby.

Boat rentals, fishing supplies and grocery items available.
