The Redfish and Speckled Trout fishing around the Venice Louisiana area has been consistant. The wind has made the fishing around the Venice, Louisiana area difficult some days, but we have been catching the Redfish and Speckled Trout consistently even with the wind.  I am excited that the Speckled Trout have been showing up in numbers down river. I fished thursday and Friday and thanks to weather no one wanted to go on Saturday. Thursday brought a group from Houston and had some steady action all day. Unfortunately no big tuna. We headed out of Grand Isle yesterday morning. The seas were a little rough but we managed to make it out to the tuna grounds. The redfishing in Venice continues to be very productive. This last week we caught over 70 redfish out of my bayboat, with one day over a 100. most of the fish were caught with a plastic under a popping cork in murky river water with a layer of saltwater underneath the fresh water. The Redfish action has been terrific the last few weeks in Venice between the strong cold fronts. The day of the fronts brings heavy winds, which makes it difficult, but the days between the fronts make up for the tough days.
