United StatesWood Creek Lake is located in Laurel
County about 6 miles northwest of
London. The dam is a highway fill
embankment on Interstate 75 about 9
miles north of London. This lake was
completed in 1969. Facilities include a
launching area, boat dock, and parking
area. Boats, live bait, and tackle are
available.
THE FISHERY:
Species present in the lake include
rainbow trout, largemouth bass,
smallmouth bass, spotted bass, white
crappie, channel catfish, bluegill,
redear sunfish, rock bass, longear
sunfish, and yellow bullhead.
Scenic crystal clear waters makes this 900 acre lake a great fishing spot. There are two main forks: Wood Creek and Gillis Branch, and several other medium long sloughs. The lake is too narrow for pleasure boating. Wood Creek is home of the state large mouth bass record of 13 lbs. 10oz.
The lake has 30.6 miles of shoreline.
