Fishing Reports

Fort Lauderdale Florida Deep Sea Offshore fishing We had a great showing the last few trips. Yesterday the first 2 baits out got eaten by Sailfish, we landed one and the other escaped quickly. This was a family trip and dad teamed up to help it all come together. After 1 1/2 hours we released the Sail to fight another day. We returned back to where we started and quickly got into the Kingfish. They were between 10 and 25 pounds and that is a decent size for the middle of summer here! ...

Captain Ron Mallet-Action Sportfishing Florida Report:The South Florida bite has been hot. This is the time of year we all wait for. The only factor that will influence the action is the weather. East-Souteast winds keep the fish moving through and they are hungry. As long as this pattern continues the bite should be strong. Kingfish and Bonita are the main players but Dolphin and the straggling Sailfish are still showing on lucky days. We did get another nice Blackfin Tuna, a 27.5 pounder thi...

Fort Lauderdale Florida, Atlantic Ocean Deep Sea Report-Captain Ron MalletWe are deep into May and it shows. After a week of constant wind we finally broke out and enterted some of the best action this year. The bite has been steady all week and the weather has been great. The offshore scene is mostly made up of Kingfish but a fair mix of Dolphin, Bonita and a few Sailfish are rounding out the trips. Live bait has worked great just a mile or 2 outside the inlet. When the breeze kicks in the ki...

Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing reportReport Date: March 2, 2009The winter is winding down but not without another few days of cool temps and winds from the north. We are getting some of the condiitons we like when it comes to Sailfishing. The cool breeze and choppy seas make shots at Sails an ideal combination. The bite has been scattered but the weather we are getting the last few days will push them into our waters for another session of live bait kite fishing. The Kingfish are mixed in wit...

Fort Lauderdale/Miami/Boca Raton deep sea fishing:The weather has been great most days. Cool for us but you would probably love our 70s at this time of the year! Offshore the bite has been mostly Dolphin (Mahi), Kingfish, Sailfish and Bonita. The best method of getting bites is drifting with live baits. We only have to head 1 to 2 miles right out our inlet (Port Everglades) in order to get into the fish. This is a short run most days. The inshore light tackle action has consisted of mostly Bar...
