Description:

Atlantic Highlands, Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay Party Boat Fishing Aboard Captain Ron's Fishermen

Fishing from Atlantic Highlands and the Sandy Hook Area offers us the best of both worlds, The Ocean and the Bay!

We primarily fish the ocean, rocks, wrecks, reefs and open bottom. But on those days where it's questionable, we have the calm sheltered waters of Sandy hook and Raritan Bay. Lot's of spots to choose from. Atlantic Highlands is centrally located at the shore, in the middle of the state. Easy access for customers from NY, PA, Northern and Southern NJ.

Most Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook Fish species we target actually migrate to this area to spawn and spend the summer months, less time riding and more time fishing for our customers!!!

Season starts April 1 fishing for Striped Bass.

Stripers are one of the most exciting fish out there. The average size is 24 to 48 inches or 5 to 25 pounds! Along with being the best looking fish and a good fighter, they also taste great.

We fish till the end of June then switch to Fluke fishing for the Summer months.

Fluke (or Summer Flounder) are bottom dwellers. We fish several areas for Fluke, depending on the time of season. The Bay, Ocean, Channels, nothing is out of our reach. The average size Fluke for our area run 14 to 20 inches,1 to 5 pounds. However, several fish each season are caught between 10 and 14 pounds! Fluke are a challenge to catch, that’s what keeps customers coming back.

Weak Fishing (Sea Trout) season normally runs from the end of September into October. 2005 was one of the better years in a long time. Weakfish are a perfect light tackle fish and range from 14 inches to 12 pounds. Live Worms and Artificial lures make this fishery very exciting.

We finish up the season with our Fall Striper run. Normally from the last week in October through Christmas (weather permitting). Jigging between the channels, in the bay or down the beach, this is probably the most exciting time of year. Fish are migrating for the winter and are normally very hungry.............If you haven’t fished with us before, give us a try, you won’t be disappointed.

The Fishermen is also available for Corporate and Private Fishing Charters though out the season. We provide the Rods, Bait and Tackle. 50 guests are not a problem and is very comfortable. Rates are by request, Gratuity for the crew is additional.

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 05.11.12

Getting back in the grove, slowly but surely as the A.M. bite on some very nice fish made the day!! Fished the clams on the incoming, loads of bait and not one bluefish..go figure after the past week . High hook landed 4 with several limits in the short time bite. Wind picked up for some pretty crappy conditions the rest of the day as we looked over several area's with not much success. Pics and video tell the rest of today's story. Weather looks great the next few days for...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 04.16.12

I know the Monday Regs are chomping at the bit for today's report so here goes. Morning bite was excellent, came back on the anchor and had 3 fish on right away. Bite lasted an hour then we went for some jig fish. With gannets crashing the water we found some of the biggest fish of the season including Big Alan's 34 pound beauty. Had the end of the tide and the bite died. Thought it would turn back on after the change, it didn't but we were very happy with the catch we put t...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 04.02.12

To say I am happy with the start of the season today is an understatement... Had a very nice morning bite in some hard current up until around 10:30 when we lost the tide. Had shots of 2-3 fish on, then one...one, two, like that. Bite started to turn back on late with some bigger fish in the mix. June Benson lead the way with 3 keepers and an 18 pound pool fish, which is the first place fish to start the season on the big pool. Ralph and Jeff Jr. had 3 keepers wi...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 10.12.10

Caught the last of the morning bite today after trying two area's that produced nothing!     Had 5 nice keeper bass and a couple blues after running over half the ocean. Read fish coming under the boat in stacks, but when they stopped eating there was nothing we could do but wait...so we did.   Anchored up and clammed for a while waiting for the outgoing....No bites, nothing. Just about time to go home we gave it one last shot where we caught the fish in the AM, the bi...

It's great too be back in the game!!     Anchored the boat on our first drop and had the bite right away....Shorts to start out then a couple keepers. Lost the current and had to wait for the change. We did catch the change of tide bite once again, lasted another 45 minutes then died.   Took one last look around and found the best action of the day with keepers, shorts, Porgies and Big Sea Bass coming in!!   12 year old Alec George, Middletown, N.J. had the ho...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 08.25.10

Hit the channel for the change of tide this morning.... Nice pick on keepers and some shorts. Knew we had a short window to fish as the tide was against the wind for the second day in a row.     Kept working to the East ahead of the current and the pending roll that came with it.   Very good fishing as Tommy Krako lead the way with his limit and then some, along with Chris G.landing 9 keepers.   John Froelich was back at it again with another pool fish and 5 i...

Raritan Bay Fishing Report 07.02.10

Two days in a row with very good conditions for flukin!!!     Had all day action on fish up to 6.2 pounds. Mike Gasparetti started his season off with a limit of fish up to 4 1/2 pounds.   Eddie (who never quits) landed the big one and took the lead in the Big fish pool with his 6.2 pounder, taking out Andey Seneys 5 1/2. Just missed his limit when he pulled the hook on the Fish of the day!   Bucktailing is certainly the way to go when the drift isn't too fast...
