Fishing Reports

Guntersville Lake Fishing Report 04.19.13

The fishing the last few weeks has been really good. The numbers are really up. Yesterday we boated around 60 but the day before that I had a half day 4 hour trip and we caught around 50. Everyday is always a little different but for the last few weeks we have been having really good numbers with several big fish in the mix.   There are alot of fish spawning and will continue for the next few weeks. There are also a lot of post spwan fish that have pulled out to the first break...

Guntersville Lake Fishing Report 04.03.13

The fishing the last couple of weeks has been up and down, one day we do really good and the next is a grind and we really have got to work for them. We have been catching fish on several different baits like a-rigs, traps, jerkbaits, plastics, crankbaits and a few on topwater. We have seen some fish that are really active and chasing shad and with the water temp hitting around the 60 degree mark the fish will soon be hitting the b...

Guntersville Lake Fishing Report 03.13.13

Yesterday I fished with a couple gentlemen who new how to have fun a would rag each other at the drop of a dime. My sides hurt by the end of the day from the laughing and the bone jarring hits on the a -rig. We caught fish from 8 to 12 feet of water and and the only other bait we had any bites on was a jig. We didn't catch a ton of fish but I believe we boated 13 and 10 were over 5 lbs with the biggest around 7 1/2. We probably had another 10 hit the rig and just never get it. Toda...

Guntersville Lake Fishing Report 10.31.12

The fishing here lately has been pretty good for us. The a-rig has been playing a big factor on the schooling fish. Some of these schools you just never know what you are going to catch. We are catching bass, stripper, crappie, yellow bass , cat fish, drum and have had some skip jack.  You know you are in the right area and doing the right thing when you are catching everything in the lake.  Even with the high winds and this extreme cold front we have still been catching and seein...

Guntersville Lake Fishing Report 06.19.12

Fishing is still good on the big G. We have been catching some really good fish here lately but timing is everything. You can hit one spot 2 or 3 times and nothing much happens and then you pull up and catch 25 pounds in 30 minutes. Football jigs are hot and big worms are working to. Current is playing a big role in the day right now , It’s like a light switch for them. The water color is improving daily since the winds have died and the crankbait bite has picked up in the last few...

Guntersville Lake Fishing Report 06.16.12

The last few weeks have been pretty hectic. I finally got closed on my new house and moved in. I have been running trips through the day and moving at night which makes for some pretty long days.  The fishing is either really good and we have a huge bag or it is slow and we have really have got to work for them. If you can be at the right spot when the bait pull up you can catch a huge bag fast. Points and ditches off the main river ledges are doing best. Shell beds mixed with some...
