Description:
Hi, my name is Capt. Ken Rafferty and welcome to my web site. I am a Fishing Guide located on the East End of Long Island, N.Y. based in Three Mile Harbor, East Hampton. I have been Fishing these waters for over 30 years and Guiding for the last 15 of those years. I'm told I'm an amicable and a patient Guide who will go out of his way to make your day on the water a pleasant and successful one.
In the early spring ( MAY ) you can choose to go for Stripers and Weakfish and soon after as the season progresses ( JUNE ) those tenacious Bluefish arrive and stay with us all summer long right into the late fall, joined by larger Striped Bass that like to hide among the rocks in our bays, harbors and on our flats where you can go site-fishing for them. In the fall season ( SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER ) the harbors, inlets and bays get inundated with bait fish such as Sand Eels, Bay Anchovies, Squid, Bunker, Herring and right there to feed on them before migrating south are larger Striped Bass, giant Bluefish, Bonito and False Albacore that can range up to 15 lbs.
If your a novice fisherman / fisherwoman, I'll provide friendly Fly Fishing or Light Tackle instruction. If you are an accomplished angler or an expert our game fish will provide the challenge you're looking for.
Most of our fishing takes place around Gardiner's Island but our area extends from Cedar Point to Plum Gut, Great Gull, Little Gull, and right out to Montauk Point. We also have Night Charters during the full moon, usually 5 nights before till 5 nights after the full moon when the weather co-operates. I also give instructions on Fly Fishing at your home if you have a large enough area on your lawn, if not we use the ball field in the heart in East Hampton village on Saturday and Sunday mornings. You can learn the basics of Fly Fishing as well as the single and double haul. I try to have only three (3) to four (4) people in the class so as to divide my time among all of you. The price is $50.00 per hour per person. I can only give these classes at this time of the season. Once May arrives I am booked with charters on the boat. You can take lessons on the boat but it is more expensive as you have to book at least a Half-Day charter.

Services
Experience:
Capt. Ken Rafferty was born in New York City and moved out to East Hampton, N.Y. in 1968.
He started fishing commercially in 1971, pin-hooking for Striped Bass, and Bluefish from Plum Gut to Montauk Point, Long Island.
In his 30 plus years on the water he has fished for everything from Flounder, fluke and Porgies in Gardiner's Bay to Giant Tuna and Sharks 35 miles off shore.
In 1985 he started taking out charters in his 22 ft aquasport center console, fishing light tackle using 8 lb. test line and light to medium 7 ft rods and found the fishing to be just as rewarding as off shore fishing if not better!
Capt. Ken Rafferty is licensed by the United States Coast Guard and is based in "Three Mile Harbor" East Hampton, New York
