Hello and Welcome to First Catch Fishing
Custom charter fishing in Waretown, NJ. Fishing the nearby ocean waters of Long Beach Island and Island Beach State Park as well as beautiful Barnegat Bay. My goal is to give you a fantastic day on the water the way you want it. Ocean or bay, I will tailor your trip to your particular charter. Want to get a very early start, no problem, I picked the name "First Catch" for a reason. Early/late departures and/or returns are also ok. I will be glad to work with you for an exciting day on the water.

We are located just a short boat ride from the inlet at Barnegat Light and usually arrive at our first destination within 30 minutes for ocean trips and 15 minutes for bay trips. Depending on the time of year, species likely to be caught include winter flounder, summer flounder (fluke ... my specialty), weakfish, striped bass, blue fish, sea bass, croakers, false albacore, and bonito.

No Experience Necessary. My professional approach is that I am always willing to teach a guest how to improve their angling skills. Whether educating children or beginners I am always patient and courteous. However, when guiding hard-core anglers, I understand that catching fish is job one and will do everything possible to locate the feeding fish. Believe me, I want to catch fish too! In addition to great fun, most of the fish we catch are also great eating. Of course, I suggest you only keep what you can eat.
