Tarpon hunted, Bonefish caught!
Angler Richard Dorman really enjoys fly fishing for Tarpon here in Key West. He realizes that some days are better that others, especially when mother nature decides to drop a cold front into the Keys! We hunted Tarpon for a few days and we found some. However, getting them...
Permit are Marching, Tarpon are Rolling!
The Fishing Report. Feb. 24, 2011.
Permit are on the flats in good sizes and good numbers, like this 19 pound beauty!
There are lots and lots of Permit showing on both sides of the Lower Keys, Key West and Marquesas flats. And most of them are this size or larger! The Fishing Report. Sept. 20, 2011
September and October on the flats is a great time to pursue the slam (Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit caught on the same day). Resident Tarpon are wandering around on the flats and in channels, Bonefish are tailing up on the backcountry flats, and Permit are migrating in from the reefs and wrecks to tail up on the flats. There are dates available in September and October, so contact me whenever you get the itch to catch!

Tarpon Season, 2010 will go down as one of the best for the worm hatch, IF YOU WERE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME! Early season was good, middle season was better, late season was also good, if you could get them to eat!
This is Grand Slam season here in the Keys, so if we can coax you away from the Tarpon bite, then the Permit and Bonefish are also available. Here is a 24 pound Permit and a 6 pound Bonefish taken by Atlanta Braves star Tim Hudson. Tim and his wife K...
