Fishing Reports

May 11, 2012

This morning Darin and I had a full charter, with six people on board the Lady Pamela II. As soon as we got out of Port Everglades inlet we started trolling with strip baits, both on the surface and with planer boards. The kingfish and bonito were really biting well so everybody on the boat was able to catch a fish before we went to sharkfishing. We moved the boat out in 400 feet of water and put out nice fresh bonito for bait. In less than an hour, angler Thomas was sitting in the figh...

Spring Fishing in Fort Lauderdale

April 6, 2012   The spring fishing season has started to heat up, and our anchor snapper trips on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are becoming popular. These trips run from 7pm-11pm, and with daylight savings time we are catching both the dusk bite and the nighttime bite. Last night, Adam and Joe had 10 people on our snapper trip, and they caught 40 assorted snapper, including yellowtails, vermillions, grays, and a couple of muttons. April 7, 2012 Today th...

Fishing Report Fort Lauderdale

Today Eric and a friend joined Chris and I for a six hour afternoon fishing charter. We picked up a dozen goggleyes on the way out and put the kites up in the air once we got to 350 feet of water. We set out one big dead bait and three live baits on the kites, plus two big shark baits, one at 150 feet under the surface and the other one on the bottom. During this initial set we saw anglers on a boat next to us catch a 150 lb tiger shark, so we were thinking it was our turn next. Sure enough...

LADY PAMELA 2 FEB 10-13 FISHING REPORTS FORT LAUDERDALE

February 10 , 2012 Today, one of our repeat clients and good friend David, brought a group of friends fishing on the Lady Pamela IV. Captain Darin and mate Rusty started the day trolling the reef trying to get some action for everybody on the boat. In no time they reeled in a nice wahoo. David was pretty happy as it is always nice when the first fish is dinner. They kept trolling and caught a few kingfish and one mahi-mahi before moving on to kite fishing with li...

Lady Pamela 2 Fishing Report Dec 1-4

December 1, 2, 3, 4, 2011 During the first four days of December, the northeast to east winds were just relentless. They were blowing about 10 20 knots the first two days and 20 35 knots the second two days. The good news though is that the mahi-mahi fishing has been the best I have ever seen. We have been averaging 5 fish every trip up to 30 lbs., with most of them gaffers. All of these fish have been on the reef, in 200 feet or less, and kitefishing with live baits has been the most p...

Fishing Fort Lauderdale Lady Pamela 2

November 18, 19, 20, 2011 For the last three days or so the weather has been very calm, and boy have the fish been biting. We have been using several different techniques, including trolling, kite fishing and wreck fishing. While trolling we have been catching kingfish, wahoo and mahi-mahi using fresh bonito strips behind blue and pink sea witch feathers. The kite fishing has been productive using live goggleyes and threadfin herring for big mahi-mahi, kingfish and plenty of sailfish. O...

Lady Pamela 2 Out Of Fort Lauderdale

November 2 and 3, 2011     The last few days we had a nice cold front move through, and when that happens, you can expect first rate fishing in Ft. Lauderdale. We have been live bait kite fishing pretty much every trip for the past several weeks. On November 2nd we had a morning trip with Reggie and his friends from Washington, D.C. They caught a few 20 lb. mahi-mahi, and then missed a sailfish first thing in the morning. Later, Reggie hooked up a sailfish that we almost lost....

Fort Lauderdale Fishing Lady Pamela 2

Today was a lot of fun. This morning's trip I had a great group of guys, the Lambert brothers from New Jersey. Fishing was a little slow in the morning. We kite fished for sailfish for three hours with live goggleye's and never saw a fish in the kite. So, the last hour we went trolling for kingfish and they were biting pretty good off the planers, rigged with fresh bonito strips and sea witch feathers.     On the afternoon charter Thad, Woolley, Cody, and Bret joined us. They w...

Lady Pamela 2 Fishing Report Oct 15, 2011

This morning was a cool morning as I took my cousin Candace, and her boyfriend Vince out on a shared charter with George, from Washington, D.C. The pressure was on, because Vince had never caught a sailfish, and it was his dream to catch one. Plus, my other cousin Steve had told Vince that if he didn’t catch a fish with David that he (Vince) was bad luck! We bought a half dozen goggleyes on the way out of the inlet with a plan to go right to kite fishing. The seas were running 5-6...

Fishing Is Fanntistic IN Fort Lauderdale

October 12, 2011     Poppa Johns Pizza Family   This morning, Pauli and I had Annette, and her son Bo, came fishing with us. We picked up some live goggleyes by Lauderdale Marina, and on the way out we explained all about the type of fishing we had planned. This time of year kite fishing is the most productive type of fishing one can do. It involves flying two specially designed kites from the bridge of the boat, with live baits such as goggleyes, sardines, pilchards o...
