Lake Fork tx is located 75 miles east of Dallas on Lake Fork Creek, a tributary of the Sabine river. It was impounded in 1980 and completed filling in 1985. Lake Fork covers 27,700 surface acres. The current state record largemouth bass (18.18 pounds) was caught from Lake Fork in 1992.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department began stocking the reservoir with Florida largemouth bass in 1978. Biologists state that Lake Fork is one of the 5 lakes in the nation where the next world bass will be caught. So what are you waiting for, come fish Lake Fork Texas.

Of the 50 largest bass on record for the state of Texas, 36 (all of the top 6 bass) are from Lake Fork. Number 17 & 28 on the list of trophy bass, was caught from Lake Fork in March of 2002. LAKE FORK SPRING REPORT

Daylight savings time starts this coming Sunday and spring bass and crappie fishing is now going. So I thought I would do a spring report in case you have not booked your 2012 trip. The lake is about 6' below normal.   Surface temp is 54 degrees. Also found 58 degree water late in the afternoon. Catching bass on black worm rigged texas style, white spinner baits, suspending crankbait, and suspending jerk baits.    Catching bass more on main lake small pockets.  Bass are moving in and out with the cold fronts.  Crappie bite is fair.
