Lake Okeechobee is the second largest freshwater lake in the United States. The 730 square mile lake is located in south central Florida. It is shallow (average depth 9 feet or 2.7 meters) and provides an ideal habitat for bass.
. The Big O is the place to go if you want to catch big bass. It is a fishermans paradise. You can expect to tangle with 7-10 pound bass. The lake record is 15 pounds 5 ounces. While fishing is very good year-round it is particularly spectacular during spawning season.
