The fishing is very good on the point right now.  We went 8 for 16 on our charter Friday.  The fish are scattered from the top to 160'.  Our best rigs were 5 color cores and wire divers 225' back.  Our best depth was a buck seventy five out to 260 fow. The brown fishing has slowed down because of all the winds of the past week. But we are still catching Lake Trout in from 8 to 20 ft on SS brown gobies and Pearl Bombers. We were only ably to fish the point 1 day. Our best was 120' to 160' down on the riggers with Moo Moo teasers. Low wire divers at 185' and 220' took fish. A 400 copper with a DW mag blue Dolphin also took two hits. Good Fishin.....Capt Ed Captain Ed Stowe 412 North Ferry Street Ludi...

The fishing has slowed down because of all the North winds of the past week.  Also, I drew the first season and was turkey hunting for the first three days.  Called in a beautiful gobbler, 24 lbs, 10" beard and 1" spurs. It has been hard to get out and the water temp has fallen with the north winds.  The lake has gone from 50 degrees to the low 40s.  We went out Thurs AM until the wind forced us off.  We took a Brown in front of the Lincoln on a...

Fishing report from Stowaway Charters...231-425-8962

The boat is back in the water and ready for the season, and just in time.  We are having a very good year for Brown Trout in Ludington so far.  I have taken 63 so far and I think we still have 2 to 3 weeks of good fishing left for the Brownies.  Also there are good numbers of Chinook on the point right now.  The fish are deep, in excellent shape, fiesty and most important very hungry.    Best baits for the browns are stick baits and smaller spo...

Fishing report from Stowaway Charters, 231-425-8962

I have pulled my boat and am looking forward to deer hunting, ice fishing and spending time with my grandson.   I will not be putting a regular fishing report until next spring, usually in April. However if you are going to be fishing in the Ludington area give me an email and I will give you the best current information that I have.   Thanks for your support this past season and I will see you next spring.   Good Fishin.....Capt Ed http://stowawaycharters.com ...

Fishing report from Stowaway charters, Ludington, Mi...231-425-8962

The north winds continue to blow, but when we can get out we are catching 2 and 3 year old Kings, Steelhead, Lake Trout and Cohos. Fishing is best on the bank from the brinewell to the three bears in from 120' out to 180' of water. Best fishing is in the top 70 ft. 5 cores, 7 and 10 cores, 300 and 350 coppers are all producing. Meat rigs on the low wires is a good setup right now. The pierheads are very slow because most of the salmon have gone up the river to spawn, although there are steelhe...

The fishing is as good as it has been all season long. The water has cooled down and the fish are in the skinny waters at the point. There are also good numbers of salmon at the pierheads, and in front of the Lincoln. The salmon are in Pere Marquette Lake and the Pere Marquette River. Moonshine spoons are the baits of choice, with spinnies and flies and Plugs a close second. 100 and 150 coppers and low wire divers from 40' back to 60' are also producing. 3 colors, 4 colors and the secret weapo...

Ahoy there.   The boat is out of storage and back in the water at the Ludington Municipal Marina. We are in slip #16 on dock F. I will be putting a fishing report at least once a week until the action picks up and then at least twice a week during the best part of the season. The browns and steelhead are in the nearshore waters but with all the East wind the fishing has been on the slow side. Stowaway Charters fishing report 231-425-8962

The fish are out in the deepwaters now. From the 35s out to the 4200#s. The thermocline is deep-90' down it is 56 degrees. Almost any moonshine early, with the Happy Meal and Bad Toad doing the best for me lately, rerg size spoons are finally taking fish again and although the thermocline is deep we are taking fish on the three cores, the 5 cores and 7 and 10 cores. The higher fish are mostly steelies so we are using double orange crush, fireballs, red lazers and riversides. Double Glos and...

The fishing is on again off again as the water just keeps getting warmer and warmer. The surface temp is 75 degrees and the break is down at 65 ft. We need some north or east wind to cool things down a bit. It has been a struggle the last week or so. Almost any moonshine early, with the Bloody Nose and Mongolian Beef doing the best for me, and the Silver Hoard ace highs on the cores and coppers are taking fish. Mountain Dew Spindoctors with Seaweed and later 11" paddles with meatrigs a...

The fish are on the bank from the 00's to the 0800's. 80' to 110' to start out and then out to 140' to 200' as the day progresses. Moonshine and spindoctors early and then switch to meat after the morning bite. My best lately has been white spindoctor with a pickeled sunshine 100' down on the shute rigger, DODEKAY 80 down on the outdown. I have been running meat on the wire divers starting at 125 on one and 150 on the other. Green splatterplugs and Grey Ghost on the 300 copper and on the fu...

The water on the bank went from very cold to very warm in the past couple of days because of all the south and southwest winds. The fish and the baitfish have become scattered and are very deep in the water column. We are marking a lot of fish and they are in the deeper waters, 125' down to 160' deep in from 140' to 200 ft of water. The fish are from the project to the point right now but with the south wind they will be congregating back on the point. Big paddles with flies, and Spindoctor...

6/28/210 Report

The fishing has moved north to the point for the most part, from the 00's to the 0550's. Thats the good news, the bad news is that with all of the South and Southwest winds of the past week the water temps have warmed up dramatically. And with the warm waters the Sea Fleas have EXPLODED. Fishing has changed from high in the water column to fishing very deep in the column. Add to this that its a very early bite and the fishing becomes a challenge. For starters if youve got flea-flicker line...

Friday, August, 21, 2009 Wind, wind and more wind from the South. It is supposed to go North this PM. Hopefully that will bring in some cooler water and bring the fish closer to the surface. We are catching salmon from the Consumers Power Project up to the nets past the point. We are fishing in 100' to 400' and farther as the morning progresses, and the fish are coming from 85' down to 165' on the riggers. We have never fished so deep but thats where the fish are at. It is tough to get fish after about 8:00 AM. We are marking a lot of fish and bait but it is getting really tough after the early bite.
